ISGP Foundation is a non-government non-profit organization which has been operating in the Russian Federation since 1998.
ISGP Foundation is a member of the Russian Government’s Interagency Commission for Ensuring the Equality of Women and Men and a partner organization of the Russian Donors’ Forum – a professional association uniting the largest Russian and international private and public charitable organizations working in Russia.
The Mission:
Our mission is to attract public attention as well as resources for supporting and promoting the real equality of rights and opportunities between women and men in society.
ISGP Foundation supports theactive participation of women and women’s organizations in creating a socially just society that would guarantee the protection of women’s rights, a greater role of women in society, and promote women to leadership positions at all levels of power and in all fields of activity.
ISGP Foundation provides other non-government organizations that operate in the Russian Federation with information, consultation, and expert support.
ISGP Foundation works in collaboration with Russian and CISNGO’s as well as Russian government agencies, international organizations, charitable funds, NGOs, and the business community at large.
ISGP Foundation is a member of the Association of Independent Women’s Organizations of Russia and CIS, the International Gender Policy Network, a network of women’s organizations of East Europe and the CIS countries called CARAT Coalition, and of the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID).
In determining the priority areas for its activity, the Foundation takes into account the provisions and recommendations of relevant UN documents, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Declaration on the Eradication of Violence against Women, the Beijing Platform for Action, the United Nations Millennium Declaration, and the regulatory and legal acts of the International Labor Organization (in particular, Convention No. 156 on Workers with Family Responsibilities) and of the European Council (Declaration on Equality between Women and Men).
We focus on:
Ø promoting public interests and the socio-economic rights of Russian citizens to help overcome poverty;
Ø developing various forms of effective and efficient charitable activities, aimed at preventing and solving social problems in society;
Ø strengthening international cooperation in representing and protecting the interests and rights of Russian citizens.
Areas of activity:
Ø Providing support to the expert and research community with the goal of monitoring and promoting the equality of rights and opportunities for women and men.
Ø Development of various forms of social investment and effective and efficient charitable activities.
Ø Creation and dissemination tools for social advocacy, public oversight and “Watch dog” activity.
Ø Developing and assessing family-oriented social policy models (elaborating a concept for the development of social services for working parents) for government organizations and commercial companies.
